Project Background

Harirod Group of Companies has been a trusted partner in maintaining the critical infrastructure of Kabul International Airport (HKIA) since 2009, playing a central role in ensuring the safety, functionality, and continuous operation of one of Afghanistan’s most important transportation hubs.

While our involvement began over a decade ago through successive contracts, the latest formal engagement commenced in 2021 under a three-year contract, which has been further extended for an additional five months, reflecting our proven reliability, technical capacity, and deep institutional knowledge of airport operations.

Scope of Work

As the primary maintenance services provider, Harirod Group is responsible for a wide range of essential maintenance activities, including:

  • Runway and taxiway maintenance – including surface repair, lighting systems, and markings

  • Terminal facility maintenance – HVAC systems, power backup, plumbing, structural repair

  • Ground support areas – maintenance of service roads, fences, gates, and access points

  • Electrical and mechanical system upkeep, including transformers, generators, and airport lighting

  • Water supply, drainage, and sanitation systems

  • Emergency response readiness, including fire safety systems and coordination drills

  • Daily operational support staff, engineers, and technicians stationed on-site
